This is a research project, in which youth can use photography, video, visual arts, music,
performance, poetry and the spoken word to explore the ideas of: art, community, and youth identity.
The final gallery show will be a culmination of artworks, performance and creations set for July 2011 at the Elora Centre for the Arts.
Youth can visit the youth room to work on their projects, independently or with a friend.
There is a video camera, digital camera, internet, visual art supplies, and performance space available.
Youth will have the opportunity to show their artworks in gallery shows and community events.
Youth will be able to bounce ideas off of each other revolving around artistic expression,
community relationship building, interactive space and social justice.
Opportunities via workshops and syposiums to learn about new media, claymation, improv & drama,
and new materials and techniques for visual arts.
Youth will be the drivers of this project and will collaborate with the
Centre and its’ mentors on the research, objectives and best practices.
