ADVENTURES WITH A CAMERA - C10W8
Tuesday, March 16 & Wednesday, March 17
1:00pm to 4:30pm
$55 Member / $65 Non
Designed for teens with a creative flair and who love to push the limits of photography. We will meet at the Elora Centre for the Arts on Day one, and explore how a camera works, the controls, and how to use this tool to document the world. We’ll explore ways to go beyond representational photography – looking for shapes, patterns and textures, and creating abstract impressions using people and places. The fun starts on Day two! Digital photography allows for unrestrained manipulation and that’s what we’ll do. The photos from the previous day will be uploaded to our computers, where we’ll explore how to make basic corrections, and create collages, photo illustrations, funky abstractions and more using Photoshop. At the end of the day, you will print your project using various exhibition quality paper types. If you’ve ever wanted to take pictures, and learn about creating more than a simple photograph, this course is perfect for you. *Bring your camera and a lap-top if possible.
Instructor: Sylvia Galbraith
You will need:
*A digital camera, either point & shoot or DSLR type
* Fully charged battery & memory card with lots of space
*A laptop - we will have some available, but bring your own if possible. We’ll be using Photoshop Elements, you can download a trial version for the course at www.adobe.com/downloads, or we will load it for you in class.
* Dress for the weather- great photos can be made in the snow!
